The Position The position has focus on cell-based bioassays, enzymatic assays and chromogen assays. In this 12 month temporary position as Research Scientist, you will be responsible for the performance and optimisation of analytical assays for specific clinical projects within the Novo Nordisk project portfolio. This means day to day cooperation with laboratory technicians and colleague scientists. This also include participation in cross organizational project groups, collaboration with other departments both in Research Units and in manufacturing (Product Supply), and transfer of analytical methods. As Research Scientist, you will be expected to work minimum 50% of your time in the laboratory as you will be d eveloping and implement relevant assays for early state projects to phase 1 and 2 projects in a Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) analytical department. Your main tasks will include: Validatation of the assays and equipment to the appropriate level Securing a smooth transfer of our methods to Product Supply (PS) when the project reaches clinical phase 3 Preparing the required paperwork including preparation of reports, change requests and deviations Participating in cross organizational project groups, collaboration with other departments both in Research Units and in manufacturing (Product Supply) Combining hands-on experience from the bioassay’s world with modern aspects such as automation You can look forward to using your skills and talent not only in our department but also across Drug Development which covers analysis, cell banking, drug product development and stability testing within the entire clinical portfolio. Qualifications To be considered for this position, we expect you to: Hold a Master of Science and/or a PhD within pharmacy, biomedicine, cell biology, biochemistry, and: Experience with cell-based bioassays. Ideally from the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry from working in a cGMP environment. You have experience or a keen interest for lean and continuous improvement and you are a frontrunner when it comes to digitalization and automation. You are eager to see things moving forward in a dynamic environment where projects vary, and thereby demands the need for flexibility and skills to organise and drive tasks. You take a pragmatic approach to problem solving and have a strong quality mindset. Knowledge regarding programming and/or liquid handling As a person, you are a proactive team player that naturally builds relations to colleagues and stakeholders in the organization and an independent that drives initiatives to reach goals and meet necessary deadlines. You can handle several tasks at the same time, and you never lose sight of the end goal. Apart from that, we are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, a positive and curious mind-set and a good sense of humour. About the Department As part of Novo Nordisk's R&D (Research & Early Development) family, CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls) Development makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture, and distribute drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials. Within the department we develop bioanalyses for analysis of in-process samples, drug substance and drug product samples for the entire Novo Nordisk project portfolio in clinical trials all over the world. In the Bioactivity team you will join a team of 15 highly skilled scientists and laboratory technicians who work closely together with the rest of the department on projects to deliver on time at the right quality.
