Do you have hands on knowledge about cell culture, medical device design and clinical formulation? Would you like to work with a collaborative team and support our formulation development activities for cell-based therapies? If yes, then you might be the next colleague we are looking for in our Clinical Formulation Development team. The position As a research associate you will report to the Head of Clinical Formulation Development, and you will be responsible for providing hands-on support for the development of formulations for cell therapy drug products. You will assist with cell culture, tend cell aggregates, perform cell and device experiments, collect analytical data of aggregate size distribution, cell viability and other biologic parameters, create experimental protocols and specifications for product development and protocol testing. Your main tasks will include:
  • Working with a diverse cross-functional team of product development colleagues to support development of clinical formulations
  • Designing, executing, and analysing experiments and biological assays
  • Providing input for product specifications and other Quality Management System documents within the context of cellular combination product systems
  • Testing formulations, support verification and validation of cellular combination product systems
  • Preparing accurate SOPs, performing analyses, writing reports and maintaining adequate documentation
  • Qualifications You hold a bachelor or master’s degree in biology, bioengineering, or 3 years related life science fields with experience working on stem cells or primary and cell organoids. To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Basic knowledge of medical product regulations and standards

  • Familiarity with medical device design and quality systems as applied to product characterization and validation and verification testing

  • Working knowledge of cell culture and 3D organoid culture systems

  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, biological assays and biologics formulation

  • Experience with extra-cellular matrix and chemical and physiochemical characterization (e.g., rheometry, osmometry, pH)

  • Hands-on experience in performing general molecular and cellular biological methods

  • As an individual you are organized, independent, deadline oriented and self-motivated with an ability to form strong working relationships and interested in medical and cell therapy fields. About the department The department Cell Therapy Analytics and Formulation is a part of Novo Nordisk’s Cell Therapy R&D unit, where we develop novel cell replacement therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases. Diabetes mellitus type 1, Parkinson’s disease and chronic heart failure are only some of the indications currently in the pipeline. You will join an international and dedicated Cell Therapy CMC division of ~75 employees, including scientists, project leaders, laboratory technicians and student workers.
