We are looking for two talented and enthusiastic colleagues to join our multi-national scientific team in accelerating our research activities within Biophysics and Injectable Formulation. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with others and bring your own ideas to develop the next generation of pharmaceuticals to address unmet patient needs. The positionWorking in Biophysics and Injectable Formulation, you will engage in project teams to develop biophysical understanding and develop injectable Drug Product formulations. Your work will span from early discovery to handover to our development organization, with a high level of independence and flexibility within the research project framework.You will work closely with scientists within biology, chemistry, and recombinant technologies, both internally at Novo Nordisk and with external industry and academic partners. You will design experiments to address project needs and provide clear recommendations for the molecule design for developability and development of pharmaceuticals. QualificationsYou hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences with several years of industrial research experience, and a comprehensive understanding of protein biochemistry and biophysics. You have experience in biophysical characterization and formulation of biopharmaceuticals such as proteins, antibodies, peptides, and oligonucleotides.In addition, the following qualifications will be an advantage: Hands-on experience with one or several biophysical characterization methods – candidates with a background in NMR or SAXS are especially encouraged to apply Proven track record as a successful project team member in a matrix organisation Desire to work with laboratory automation and ability to develop fit-for-purpose assays, preferably in a high-throughput format Ability to clearly communicate conclusions from complex data Experience with digitalisation and programming languages You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to network and find solutions based on insights into scientific challenges. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite. About the DepartmentThe Biophysics and Injectable Formulation research area consists of two departments that share biophysics of biomolecules and formulation for injectable projects as core tasks. The two departments have a wide range of state-of-the-art biophysical instruments, including in-house NMR and SAXS capabilities. We are part of the Biophysics and Formulation unit that is responsible for biophysical screening and early injectable and oral formulation development of peptides, proteins, and new modalities across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio.
