Do you want to take part in creating the therapies of the future? We are looking to hire a talented Research Scientist to support the development of a cell engineering platform within the Cell Therapy R&D unit at Novo Nordisk. If this opportunity sparks your interest, apply today and support us in translating stem cell-derived cell therapies into the clinic. The position
We are looking for a Research Scientist who is ready to take on a position to support our efforts to progress stem cell-based therapies towards clinical development, focused primarily on type 1 diabetes, chronic heart failure, and Parkinson’s disease. You will be part of a unique innovative and collaborative culture in Cell Therapy R&D, where you will work as part of a dedicated and supportive team, and with a high degree of autonomy and empowerment in your daily tasks. Your main responsibilities will include: Generating in vitro proof-of-concept data to support development of genome modified, hypoimmunogenic allogeneic cell therapy products. Spending significant amount of your time in the lab. With your in-depth knowledge of gene editing, designing successful strategies for cell line engineering. Driving the design and planning of laboratory work. Organizing specific skills development of more junior members to address any skills gaps.
Qualifications
For the Research Scientist position you have a PhD degree in developmental/stem cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, or any other related field with preferably 5+ years’ experience in a wet-lab. To succeed in this position, you have: Extensive and demonstrable experience in gene editing using one of more techniques – i.e. CRISPR-Cas9, MAD7, base editing or plasmid donor DNA. Hands-on experience with various delivery methods including electroporation and chemical transfection. Experience with the development and application of analytical methods including qPCR/ddPCR and flow cytometry. Experience with cell culture of human/mammalian cell lines, in particular human pluripotent stem cells. Hands-on experience and knowledge of pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation (including forward programming). A working understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS).
As a person, you are dedicated, hard-working, dependable and have a strong drive to take responsibility. You are quality-conscious, well-organized and attentive to details and have a flair for electronic data handling and documentation of experiments. You have strong communication, writing, and data presentation skills and are to work in a team-oriented and multidisciplinary environment.
