The position As our In vivo Scientist, you will manage, plan, and execute internal and external animal studies (primarily rodent models). In this role, you will work cross-functionally and in close collaboration with our highly skilled and experienced technicians and project teams. You will liaise with in vitro scientists, histologists, pathologists, and our development team of regulatory, non-clinical and clinical experts as well as our external collaborators to discuss and interpret data. Your main responsibilities will include: Ensuring optimal design and proper execution of in vivo studies, supporting both internal and external development, and implementing novel models, transplantation techniques and the latest methodologies for investigating cell therapy products Interpretation and data analysis of in vivo data, presentation to project teams and recommendations on follow-up studies and project impact of the data Seeking knowledge and expanding your skills within novel cell therapy areas as projects progress and new scientific challenges emerge Being an active member of an in vivo team and project teams where we rely on one another to be able to run complex in vivo experiments Qualifications To be successful in the position you have: A PhD within veterinarian, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or biological sciences, or similar discipline in combination with at least few years of relevant experience A solid background in small animal in vivo research and a strong interest in working with animals and animal welfare Preferably, experience in working with different diabetic animal models and/or immune deficient animals Knowledge within cell therapy and with cell transplantations and cell transplant devices is an advantage but not a requirement Fluency in English language As a person, you are motivated and curious to learn and thrive when working in teams and enjoy making decisions together. You are not afraid of taking responsibility for tasks that are out of your comfort zone, but essential for moving our projects forward. You enjoy working across our value chain, in an inter-disciplinary environment, while driving our cell therapy products towards nonclinical development and eventually the clinic. In addition, you can adapt to a constantly changing scientific landscape. About the department The Department of In Vivo Cell Efficacy and Histology is a dynamic and diverse department in Cell Therapy R&D, a Transformational Research Unit (TRU) within Novo Nordisk. The TRU is unique in the sense that it covers the full R&D value chain, which means we function as an integrated unit, spanning from early research to GMP production, non-clinical, and clinical development in the same organization. Our department is part of the Research organization based in Måløv, Denmark and we are experts in in vivo cell transplantations and relevant disease models within our indication areas and the subsequent imaging analysis. We are 21 scientists and technicians divided into an in vivo and a histology team.
