We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with automation and programming skills, who’s interested in working in a laboratory responsible for bioanalytical, biomarker, and immunogenicity assay development. About the Department Our area Non-clinical and Clinical Assay Sciences (NCAS) consists of seven departments and is part of the research organisation, and we are located in Måløv, Denmark. We are responsible for pre-clinical and clinical bioanalysis of new pharmaceutical drugs, including immunogenicity and biomarker analyses, and support the entire drug product portfolio of Novo Nordisk. We have a strong collaborative atmosphere and share laboratory facilities that house a range of different state-of-the-art techniques, e.g., different ligand-binding assays such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA), Luminescent Oxygen Channelling Immunoassay (LOCI), and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) as well as cell-based and LCMS assays. NCAS is a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) / Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulated area and is currently transforming into a more digitized and automated laboratory involving all seven departments. The Position The position is anchored in the non-clinical LCMS department and consists of 16 highly skilled scientists and technicians. Your daily tasks will range from 1st line support for the automated equipment (e.g., Tecan Fluent liquid handlers), coding of small applications to more strategic work on larger procurement projects. You will be working across NCAS together with the task force (both scientists and technicians) who is driving the automation of our assays and sample handling. This includes implementation and validation of equipment and IT systems (e.g., liquid handlers, barcode readers, decappers, freezers, etc.), optimization of data processes, and interfacing systems and equipment. You will join an area that is undergoing an exciting transformation and can look forward to a very interesting and challenging position in an environment looking to be at the forefront of laboratory automation. Qualifications
  • A degree in biochemistry, biophysics, natural sciences, engineering, or a related field
  • You have a scientific background and experience with laboratory automation
  • Experience with IT system and equipment validation is preferred, but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of programming skills within object-oriented programming (VB.NET, C#, Python or similar), and use of coding solutions regularly to solve various problems
  • A ‘high level of quality’ mindset is essential as we work according to regulatory guidelines and quality systems
  • Curious about the latest advances in laboratory automation equipment
  • On a personal level, you are a team player, you have a strong drive and commitment to involve end users in your work.
