Do you want to take part in bringing stem cell-based therapies to patients suffering type 1 diabetes and other serious chronic diseases? We are looking to expand our team to support the development of a treatment for type 1 diabetes, and we have several open positions within Cell Therapy Research. The position
In Cell Therapy Research we drive innovative translational research and build the foundation for delivering cell therapies to patients suffering from serious chronic diseases. The development of efficient, robust, and scalable differentiation protocols to the desired cell type is at the core of our contribution and a prerequisite for bringing stem cell-based therapies to patients.
In this position you will be part of developing a next generation cell therapy for the treatment of type 1 diabetes, by the application of genome editing technologies to enhance the final cell product.
You will have the responsibility to culture and produce stem cell derived beta cells from a range of gene modified cell lines, and you will work with refining the differentiation protocol in the most relevant scale and format for the purpose.
You will also take part in characterization of cells over the course of the differentiation using relevant methods.
You will join a dedicated team with extensive experience in beta cell differentiation and suspension culture systems and in addition, you will collaborate closely with our internal genome editing team. In your daily work you will refer directly to a scientist to plan and conduct experiments to support progress towards the project goals.
You will also contribute to running the cell culture labs efficiently with a high standard and well-maintained equipment.
The position requires a flair for coordination and collaboration, an organized and detail-oriented mindset in your working routines, to secure delivery of high-quality data to the project team. Qualifications
We value the following competencies in our new colleague:
• You have an education as a Laboratory Technician, Biomedical Laboratory Scientist.
• The ideal candidate has at least 3-5 years of work experience, but this is not an absolute requirement.
• You have experience in working with mammalian cell culture, preferentially human pluripotent stem cells in both adherent and suspension culture, and you understand the concept of stem cell differentiation to target cell types.
• Documented experience in working with stem cell differentiation protocol development in the context of suspension culture will be considered an advantage.
• You are dedicated, flexible and have a strong drive to take responsibility. You are quality-conscious, well-organised and attentive to detail and have a flair for electronic data handling and documentation of experiments.
• You must handle spoken and written English.
We are working in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing and therefore a flexible and positive mindset that embraces change with a positive attitude is advantageous. We highly appreciate good communication and collaboration skills to ensure a high level of knowledge sharing and a good team spirit.
