Do you have the knowledge and skills to contribute to the development and documentation of biophysical analytical methods for products that makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world? If so, you have the opportunity to play a key role in the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Analytical Support department, team Biophysical Analysis in Måløv, Copenhagen. The position You will be part of the Biophysical Analysis team and the focus will be to develop and use biophysical analytical methods in order to support development of next generation drug substance and drug products. Together with our skilled technicians you will:
  • Be responsible for planning and coordinating experiments for method development
  • Be the main biophysical analytical person in the projects
  • Have a close collaboration with many scientists and technicians in- and outside the department
  • Together with your colleagues you will contribute to the on-going optimization, automation and digitalization of processes and systems.
  • Qualifications You hold a master’s degree and preferably a PhD degree within Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Engineering, or other relevant discipline). You have a comprehensive knowledge of general protein physical chemistry and strong practical experience within biophysical characterization of biopharmaceuticals such as peptides, proteins and antibodies in solution. Especially candidates with experience of biophysical characterization of antibodies are encouraged to apply. Knowledge and practical experience with more of the following analytical techniques will be an advantage:
  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy
  • Calorimetry, e.g. isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
  • Spectroscopy, e.g. Thioflavin T fluorescence, fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Light scattering, e.g. dynamic light scattering (DLS), composition-gradient multiangle light scattering (CG-MALS)
  • Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS)
  • (Sub)visible protein particle characterization techniques, e.g. microflow imaging (MFI) and FlowCam
  • As a person you have a positive and flexible mind-set, which is helpful in an ever-changing project environment. You are a team player who build fruitful relations to both colleagues and stakeholders and ensure to reach team goals. You have the ability to communicate clear conclusions from complex data. Furthermore, a natural flair for thinking in new solutions and automation. Programming and mathematic modelling skills will be an advantage. About the department The CMC Analytical Support department is part of CMC Drug Product Development in Research & Development, Novo Nordisk A/S. The department is organized into four highly skilled analytical teams. The department is responsible for developing analytical methods, validation, documentation, characterization and delivering analytical results for new drug substance, drug product and side chains as well as for raw materials, excipients and various process related residues and leachables. Providing analytical support to all parts of Novo Nordisk, the department acts as a link between the research unit and the production, spanning from early development to phase 3 clinical trials and registration.
