As our new Research Scientist, your primary responsibility will be to support our biomarker projects in close collaboration with stakeholders. Your role will entail:
  • Collaborating with colleagues to define biomarker assay strategies across a diverse range of projects
  • Developing and supporting fit-for-purpose ligand binding assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, AlphaLisa) for quantification and qualification of new biomarkers in pre-clinical and clinical samples
  • Actively seeking internal and external inspiration to optimize our methodologies
  • Mentoring and training junior colleagues in ligand binding assays and data analysis
  • Participating in multidisciplinary project teams and engaging with stakeholders from various parts of Novo Nordisk
  • Contributing to the promotion of a culture of innovation and curiosity, while ensuring accountability and timely delivery of high-quality scientific data
  • Qualifications
    To thrive and succeed in this position we expect you to have:
  • A PhD degree within Life Sciences, or a Master’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • A strong scientific immunoassay experience (e.g., ligand binding assays)
  • A track record of conducting biomarker assay establishment and analytical qualification
  • Ability to identify and solve experimental issues, and perform and report quantitative bioanalysis of human and animal study samples
  • Moreover, it would be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience with flow cytometry including hands on and analysis of data
  • Experience with drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry or similar
  • Some understanding of both preclinical research and early clinical development
  • Some understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms preferably within cardiometabolic diseases
  • In addition, as a person you have a positive, curious, and collaborative mindset, with great interpersonal skills that allow you to build fruitful relations with both colleagues and stakeholders. About the department
    At the Biomarker Assay Development department, we establish and qualify biomarker assays to support drug discovery, and we deliver biomarker data that is key for maturing the next generation of drugs changing the lives for patients with chronic and rare diseases. Our department consists of three teams and 21 highly skilled and self-motivated scientists and technicians. We collaborate and share knowledge to benefit each other and ultimately the patients. We are experts in flow cytometry and immunoassays such as ELISA, AlphaLisa and MSD, which are routinely applied for quantification of biomarkers. Biomarker Assay Development is part of Global Translation, an organisational area responsible for application of translational methodologies across all the therapy areas in Novo Nordisk. Global Translation is part of Novo Nordisk´s Research & Early Development and is located in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen.
