Your responsibilities as Operations Specialist
As our Hardware Installation Specialist, it is your responsibility in cooperation with the team to support our infrastructure and clients. To do this you have great attention to quality and continues improvement, when you maintain our infrastructure, handle incidents, changes and problems according to ITIL best practice.
Hardware installation specialist have two main functions
1: As our server hardware infrastructure specialist
We support servers from HPE, Dell, Cisco and IBM/Lenovo. In order to
respond to critical and major incidents, you must be ready to be a part of our 24/7 on call/call-in duty for a week at a time every five weeks if needed.
2: As our mount & cabling specialist
We support physical installation and cabling of all hardware in NNIT’s data centers this includes rack mounted hardware, cabling between racks and dark fiber cabling furthermore we cover troubleshooting of Hardware, cables and spare parts.
You will join our Global Hardware Installation Operations team
It is a global team with 12 members located in Copenhagen and 3 members located in China with focus on high quality, stable operations and high customer satisfaction. We are a diverse team with high focus on supporting each other and share our knowledge across the team. You are key to developing our team and operation services in Hardware Installation operations and you will be placed in Copenhagen.
The team is part of datacenter operation responsible for everything from infrastructure and applications to complete orchestration and support of our customers’ IT solutions.
Your qualifications and experience
You have minimum 3 years of experience with server hardware in enterprise environments covering rack, cabling, mounting hardware in rack, blade servers, blade enclosure and converged infrastructure for diverse platforms including HPE, Dell and Cisco. You have a general knowledge and interest in server OS, hardware installation, network and storage, preferably with focus on relation with server hardware. A technical education is ideal, but a long relevant experience can be just as crucial.
As a person, you approach tasks with a strong analytical mindset and a high degree of independency. You are a great communicator and combined with your deep knowledge and experience, you help colleagues when needed, and you are not afraid to take lead and mentor the work of less experienced personnel. As we are a truly global team covering 8 nationalities you must master English vocally and written. Our corporate language is English. Mastering Danish is required.
