The position
The programming specialist will be part of a core team consisting of a bioinformatics specialist, a principal statistician, an international lead programmer and a student assistant. The team is driving the integration of omics data with clinical data as Novo Nordisk intensifies the investment in high-dimensional biological data generated from clinical trials. The team is responsible for making value apparent to stakeholders and that the value is captured by the organisation. The team is also supporting post-hoc exploratory use of omics data.
The programming specialist will be responsible for setting up pipelines that are aligned with the demands of regulatory authorities for data being submitted for New Drug Applications, label updates etc. This entails being compliant with GxP, GDPR and CDISC requirements. The programming specialist is expected to contribute to the development of industry guidance and standards for omics data. The programming specialist will also be responsible for collaborating with Novo Nordisk systems used for data archiving and sharing regarding omics data generated in Clinical trials.
Qualifications
Being a Statistical Programming Specialist in Novo Nordisk requires profound domain expertise and the wish to constructively challenge existing standards. A result oriented working style with sufficient expertise to break down issues into practical solutions and a good understanding of dependencies and requirements to optimise the business results are expected. One should be able to articulate complex technical issues in an easily understandable manner and actively seek input and feedback from stakeholders.
As a minimum you meet the following requirements:
As a person, you have a positive mindset and the ability to set direction independently and proactively. You act as driver and leading member of the project teams you are part of.
About the Department
Biostatistics department is a part of Data Science organization and consists approx. 300 statisticians and statistical programmers globally. About 200 employees are situated in Denmark in Søborg and Aalborg offices. Biostatistics are organised in smaller units within clinical therapeutic areas enabling a close collaboration with our stakeholders. Primarily we perform our scientific and programming activities in-house, thus offering a wide variety of challenges and access to a strong scientific community. We maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere in our everyday work and offer a healthy work-life balance.

- MSc, PhD in Natural or Technical Sciences (or equivalent theoretical background – please qualify in application).
- 5 years of experience within clinical development or bioinformatics.
- Experience with CDISC standards and regulatory data submissions is an advantage.
- Experienced programmer within R and/or Python. Knowledge of SAS is an advantage.
