About the department To accelerate and expand the promising development of CagriSema within obesity, diabetes, and potentially other indications, we are expanding the Clinical Operations area from 2 to 3 departments. In the new department, you will help us deliver innovative medicines and drive improved patient outcomes as you take on the overall responsibility for the planning and execution of global clinical trials in Phases 1-4. By contributing to our shared mindset of collaboration and curiosity, you bring innovation to our clinical trials and pave the way for the success of our mission. The position You will report to the Vice President of Clinical Operations and become a member of the CagriSema leadership team. You will lead a team of approx. 10 highly engaged Clinical Project and Operations Leaders, Global Trial Managers, and Clinical Trial Administrators. As Director, you will combine the people management role of the department with operational leadership responsibility across the clinical development programme by:
  • Providing operational strategy and ambitious plans insights to achieve clinical project success
  • Setting clear expectations and appropriate guidance on “what good looks like” for trial roles and trial teams to drive transformation within clinical development in HQ and across the global organization
  • Proactively leading and driving the development of trial management competencies and processes. Being responsible for the competency level and for driving the culture in accordance with Novo Nordisk Way. Further, inspiring and motivating employees and teams to apply judgement-based decisions, flexibility, and agility
  • Collaborating closely with other managers and taking an active part in developing the area as well as a lead role in various organisation improvement projects.
  • Some travelling for meetings can be expected. Qualifications To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in science and have several years of experience working with clinical drug development
  • Previous experience with people leadership and project management
  • Proven track record with the operational aspects of planning and conducting global clinical trials
  • On a personal level, you are familiar with cross-organisational and global work and can navigate well in a project-driven matrix organisation. You are good at inspiring and motivating employees to do their best while having an organised and structured approach to leading the team.
