The position You will contribute with statistical, analytical and advanced programming expertise to a team of data scientists and epidemiologists that, together with stakeholders from across the organisation, create actionable insights and evidence from real-world data. Our data comes from in-licensed databases of electronic medical records or health insurance claims, observational studies, digital health initiatives through partnerships with medical technology companies, and many other sources. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Apply state-of-the art methods within statistical analysis, programming, and visualisation to generate insights and real-world evidence from our large and diverse data sources.

  • Drive innovation and application of novel methods and current trends in real-world data analyses.

  • Be a knowledge developer and direct educational and scientific activities to further strengthen our statistical and analytical expertise within the real-world data space.

  • Engage with medical doctors, epidemiologists and other stakeholders to identify real-world evidence gaps and suggest appropriate and innovative analytical solutions to address these gaps.

  • Participate in designing, planning, developing, and documenting studies to make informed business choices based on data.

  • Examine data for scientific publications and support the publication process in collaboration with epidemiologists, medical writers, key opinion leaders and others.

  • Write, document, and maintain code in R to transform, standardise and aggregate data to create analysis-ready data sets from large amounts of raw data.

  • Evaluate data quality of potential new data sets.

  • Strengthen partnerships with leading data science knowledge centers in industry and academia.

  • Qualifications You will be a great asset to our team because you have:
  • MSc and PhD degree in Biostatistics, Mathematics/Mathematical Modelling, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent quantitative fields

  • Extensive experience in classical statistical methods and strong programming skills in R

  • Proven track record of managing, analysing, programming, documenting, and communicating comprehensive data

  • Additional preferred qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge in epidemiology (RWD/RWE) and translation of epidemiological questions into advanced data analyses solutions
  • Experience with analyses of registry data, medical records or health insurance claims Pharmaceutical industry or consultancy background and experience with regulatory interactions or submissions
  • An existing understanding in diabetes epidemiology or clinical diabetes research

As a person you enjoy responsibility and are ready to take informal leadership and complete your assignments proactively and within timelines. You are fluent in communicating in English both orally and in writing. You have excellent stakeholder management skills, are able to quickly understand and translate stakeholder needs into data solutions through programming and analyses and know how to communicate complex statistical and data science problems to a broader audience. About the department In Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product launch and beyond. We provide medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to global standards, regulations, and business ethics. The department of Real-World Science Diabetes is part of Data Science in Development and located in Søborg, Denmark. The department focus on insights and causal relationships from real world data (RWD) through advanced statistical methods. We analyse many different data sources to generate evidence to support clinical drug development projects and launched products.
