The position
As a Clinical Operations Lead (COL), you will take on a senior specialised project management role with extensive responsibilities, leading and delivering all operational aspects of the set-up and initiation activities of a trial in collaboration with Global Trial Managers and other stakeholders. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Drive the discussion on how we best run our clinical trial to the benefit of participants
• Contribute to translating organisational and project aspirations into operational actions (e.g., decentralised aspects, patient centricity, environmental sustainability)
• Assume responsibility for one or more trials, depending on trial complexity
We have several open Clinical Operations Lead positions in our area:
An opportunity to drive early phase trials both with focus on healthy volunteer’s single centre trials as well as global patient trials in various therapeutic areas. You need a strong knowledge and extensive experience of performing different types of FIH/ SAD/MAD trials. The role will be anchored in a new established Early phase trial team. An opportunity to drive the setup of global trials within Rare Diseases, including rare blood disorders and rare growth disorders. Our trials have a strong patient focus ensured by actively engaging with patients, study nurses and everyday medical experts in the clinical field. We use advanced innovative trial designs, such as basket trials, with modern digital and decentralised ways to collect clinical data. In order to understand the diseases and the treatment effect better, we also include biomarker research and partner up with academic institutions. An opportunity to be accountable for trial start-up activities from conceptual development of protocol outline to successful patient recruitment with great exposure to the organisation and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Global Project Teams, Trial Squads, Medical and Science Teams, our CMR organisation and external vendors (including CROs).
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• A MSc in Natural Science and five years of relevant experience, or
• A BSc in Natural Science or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience in Clinical trials
• A-depth knowledge and experience in clinical trial methodology and operational aspects of trial initiation incl. solid knowledge and experience in clinical IT systems (e.g., EDC, IWRS, and patient-reported data collection modalities)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed to succeed in this role
• Professional proficiency in English
About the department
In the Rare Disease and Advanced Therapies project area we focus on rare blood- and endocrine disorders as well as new treatment modalities, and we span various technologies such as proteins, monoclonal antibodies, stem cells and gene therapy as current platforms. We currently have several ongoing Phase 1-4 trials within Haemophilia, Growth Disorders and Sickle Cell Disease, and are soon preparing to enter new indications within Rare Blood and Endocrine Disorders. In addition, we are responsible for the execution of the Novo Nordisk stem cell portfolio. Here you will get the opportunity to work on products entering human studies through to marketed products.
