We are looking for a new Global Medical Senior Director/Director to lead the team and set the global strategy for the launch of our promising CagriSema project in obesity and Therapy Area development strategy. The role will be as Senior Director or Director depending on the experience and competences of the candidate. About the department
The CagriSema Obesity team is a diverse and high performing team with a strong sense of commitment and open atmosphere. The team is responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication on all phases of clinical trials. The department is responsible for CagriSema, a once-weekly GLP-1-+ amylin analogue under investigation for weight management, as well as a number of exciting obesity pipeline projects. The CagriSema Obesity team is part of the Global Medical Affairs Obesity VP department. The position
This position will lead an internationally diverse team of medical doctors and scientists with clinical, research, and pharmaceutical industry experiences in the global and regional/local settings. Reporting to the Vice President of Obesity in Global Medical Affairs, the Senior Director/Director will be part of the management team and will represent the medical affairs function in global decision boards working closely with cross functional peers in Marketing, Patient Access, Clinical Development, Regulatory situated in the Global Head Office as well as the Novo Nordisk regions and affiliates. The responsibilities include:
  • The development of the Global Medical Affairs strategy including molecule, physician groups and disease specific strategies as well as the publication strategy building on new scientific insight and product development in alignment with the Global Project Teams.
  • Ensure scientific alignment and facilitate that scientific knowledge is appropriately communicated and understood internally and externally from global to local across the world.
  • External liaison between Novo Nordisk and the scientific community, physicians, and physician organizations, and is responsible for overseeing scientific dialogue at international scientific meetings and conferences
  • The position calls for an outgoing mature leader who can autonomously work as the strategic partner within interdisciplinary project teams and provide input to clinical development plans from a clinical, scientific and communication perspective. Leadership qualifications must be evident e.g. from earlier leadership positions; the position builds on strong people management skills and a willingness to develop the team and continue to drive performance, balancing with a strong strategic acumen and global vision. Qualifications
    You will have a background as Medical Doctor, PhD and/or specialist degree preferred and a strong business acumen as well as a clinical and research background. Extensive Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development experiences from a global HQ function as well as experience in launch and life cycle management projects. Therapeutic expertise in the field of obesity and cardiovascular, renal and metabolism is a plus. You possess evident people management experiences with a focus on people development and building high performing teams or evident leadership potential and commitment along with strong cross functional leadership skills with evidence of strategic, tactical and operational leadership. You also come with outstanding presenting and motivational skills and are fluent in both oral and written English (company language). The position requires relocation to Copenhagen, Denmark and worldwide travel is a requirement in alignment with our Circular for Zero policy
