The position
Event adjudication is an important part of conducting clinical trials at Novo Nordisk and as a Senior Event Adjudication Professional you will lead event adjudication activities in selected clinical trials. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Leading collaboration: Facilitating strong collaboration among stakeholders, including Medical, Data Management, Trial Management, Biostatistics, Affiliate colleagues, and external CROs and KOLs.
  • Establishing processes: Setting up comprehensive processes for event adjudication, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of clinical trial data.
  • CRO oversight: Overseeing the performance of external CROs involved in event adjudication, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Tracking and reporting: Maintaining an ongoing overview of event numbers by tracking them in reports and utilizing business intelligence tools for data visualization.
  • Stakeholder communication: Ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders, addressing any process issues that may arise, and managing closure activities and archiving.
  • Optimization and support: Contributing to optimization activities within the department and participating in cross-functional improvement and innovation projects. Providing advice, training, and supervision to colleagues, fostering a proactive and inspiring work environment.
  • Event adjudication is a data driven process that extends across a multitude of both internal and external IT systems. We use business intelligence tools for visualising data to maintain oversight of the process. This means that using and providing input to the improvement of IT systems is an integral part of all roles in our area.
    Qualifications To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Master’s degree, preferably within natural or health sciences, technical sciences or similar
  • Solid experience with clinical trial conduct, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and project management
  • Strong MS Office skills, and specifically a high level of Excel knowledge
  • Worked with databases, reporting tools and you master new IT systems
  • Experience with working with CROs is an advantage
  • As a person you are proactive and like to work independently, as well as in a team. This includes having excellent collaborative skills and a high degree of flexibility, as well as high communication (with a proficiency in English), coordination and planning capacity. You are open-minded, dynamic, and eager to learn new processes and have a positive attitude to challenges.
    About the department
    The Event Adjudication area consists of three departments with a total of 27 highly engaged team members from various academic backgrounds. We establish and execute procedures for setting up, conducting and closing event adjudication activities on clinical trials in collaboration with a wide range of internal as well as external stakeholders. We work in a fast-paced environment on an increasing number of trials in the late-stage clinical development, where clinical events require adjudication. Event adjudication is a process where an independent review board of medical specialists assesses relevant adverse events for fulfilment of pre-defined clinical criteria, with the purpose of generating high quality data for our clinical trials. The process is driven out of the department in close collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external CROs. The Event Adjudication department is part of Safety Operations, one of the functional areas in Global Safety based in Søborg.
