The position You will be part of a cross-functional team analysing omics data (e.g. proteomics, metabolomics, genetics) from our clinical trials with the ultimate aim of delivering crucial insights for supporting our growing Novo Nordisk portfolio from early research through clinical development across therapeutic areas. As Statistical Omics Specialist, you will be responsible for: Providing statistical input and analyses to trial designs, clinical trial protocols, clinical study reports and regulatory submissions regarding omics data. Contributing and reviewing code going into our internal omics code base (e.g., R package) Enhancing scientific publications and advancing our research within the field of omics data analysis. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with colleagues within our internal Data Science organisation as well as with stakeholders e.g., from our Research & Early Development and commercial departments as part of ensuring end-to-end value generation from our constantly growing catalogue of omics data from our clinical trials. You handle many assignments concurrently and will work in close collaboration with a diverse team of Statisticians and Statistical Programmers on various skill levels. Coaching of less experienced colleagues is a natural part of the job and we expect you to be able to communicate statistical problems and ideas clearly to both statistical colleagues as well as stakeholders from other functional areas. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you: Have a strong theoretical background in statistics or another quantitative discipline (e.g., math, physics, engineering, computer science, bioinformatics) corresponding to at least MSc level (preferrable PhD or equivalent) and at least five years of experience within clinical or bio-statistical research. Previous worked with analysing clinical data or high-dimensional data including omics data will be an advantage. Thrive in a role where you independently and proactively set direction for your part of the projects while handling several challenging tasks in parallel without compromising the quality of your work. Aree able to create overview, prioritise and bring a flexible and positive mindset when things are moving fast, and deadlines are closing in. You are encouraged to apply regardless of your academic background, provided you have a strong foundation in statistics through both practical experience and relevant courses or certifications Since we operate within an Agile framework, having experience in a similar working environment such as Scrum would be a valuable asset. As an individual, your self-driven nature, coupled with your strong communication skills, empowers you to effectively collaborate with peers and engage with stakeholders at various levels. Your outgoing personality further enhances team cohesion by fostering a harmonious environment among its diverse members. About the department Biostatistics is part of Novo Nordisk’ Data Science organisation and consists of 250 statisticians and statistical programmers globally. About 200 is situated in Denmark in Søborg and Aalborg offices. Biostatistics are organised in units within clinical therapeutic areas and a Centre of Excellence supporting across all project areas.
