Novo Nordisk has a clear purpose of driving change to defeat serious chronic diseases. To support this, a new Data Science organisation was established a few years ago in which Biostatistics is anchored. Data Science’s vision is to ensure Novo Nordisk as a global healthcare leader powered by data, analytics, and digital technologies. With this ambitious vision, we are undergoing a transformation in Biostatistics to ensure that we are all set for the future, and therefore a Scientific VP position with focus on method development and implementation is being established.The global Biostatistics organisation currently consists of approximately 400 statisticians and statistical programmers; 20 nationalities located primarily in our 4 main hubs; Aalborg in Northern part of Denmark, Bangalore, Boston, and Søborg in Greater Copenhagen. Novo Nordisk has a broad R&D pipeline and majority of our statistical and statistical programming work is done in-house, thus we offer a wide variety of opportunities and provide a strong scientific community supporting clinical development and commercial execution. We are organised in smaller units for each clinical development project to ensure close collaboration with our various stakeholders within other disciplines.The position
You will report to our global head of Biostatistics and be part of the global Biostatistics leadership team driving the overall strategic direction and contributing to innovation. You will work closely with our Statistical Vice President and our Statistical Programming Vice President to bring innovative methods to life within our product development.You will head up the Biostatistics Methods & Outreach department according to the strong and unique company values combining humanity, ambition, and quality known as the Novo Nordisk Way. You will engage in own research while also mentoring and supervising experts in the team, and you will support establishing PhD and postdoc projects, within statistical methods and analytical innovation for optimized drug development.With your team you will frame and drive long- and short-term strategies and plans for new methods and innovations within Novo Nordisk, and you will present and provide expert advice on new statistical and analytical methods to senior management and the organisation.You will be a leading expert and have several external responsibilities and represent Novo Nordisk’s interests and business needs, e.g., interactions with authorities, key opinion leaders, scientific forums, publish and present at conferences and seminars (internally and externally), influence decision makers and impact the strategic direction of the external pharmaceutical statistical landscape.Qualifications
You are a seasoned statistician with experience from the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent, and you have in-depth knowledge of trends within statistical methods and analytical innovations and a proven history of developing new methods, e.g., innovative trial designs, causal inference, and event-history etc. Methods development might be within frequentist, Bayesian or both frameworks. You are also recognized for your good knowledge within drug development.You have successfully delivered global results and impacted core processes, projects, and products in a pharmaceutical company. In addition, you have successfully identified, communicated, applied, and maintained state of the art competences and know-how within statistical methods and analytical innovations.Your colleagues describe you as an inclusive and experienced strategic leader and as a great networker and communicator who has frequent interactions with external contacts in the pharmaceutical industry and in academia. You have extensive experience with communication, presentations, and publications of statistical topics. In addition, you have experience with the process of new drug applications globally.Deadline
