The position
As the new leader of the Learning and Training department in Clinical Operations Centre of Expertise, you will be responsible for driving the learning and training strategy within the area in partnership with others across the globe.
A new dedicated department is under establishment, which will focus on designing and deploying modern learning and trainings across clinical operations, and for our external collaborators at clinical trial sites. This new department will own learning and training to relevant staff in Clinical Operations and investigator site staff (in partnership with our global trial teams) ensuring impactful training is offered both internally and externally in clinical operations.
Your key responsibilities will include: Managing a team of proficient learning specialists who design and implement diverse competency development programs, such as onboarding, accelerated development, and operations-related skill training. Facilitating the realization of the learning and training strategy within your unit as well as across the organization by establishing proactive partnerships with learning teams in other departments around the globe. Drive innovation by introducing new learning tools, technologies, and modalities. Participating as an active member of the VP area's leadership team and serving as a crucial liaison between the Learning and Training Department and other departments within the VP area and across Clinical Drug Development. Qualifications
To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have: Masters degree in educational science, life science or another relevant field. Strong experience with line management combined with the ability to inspire and motivate a team using an organized and structured approach. Demonstrated experience in designing and facilitating effective training and development programs. Proven expertise and leadership in cultivating and promoting learning throughout an international organization. Experience from working in a project-oriented, international matrix organization. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry is preferred along with understanding of clinical drug development would be an advantage. Fluency in written and oral English. On a personal note, your substantial leadership expertise equips you to inspire and empower employees to deliver their best performance. You have exceptional skills in communication, presentation, and negotiation, complemented by a strong interest in contemporary learning methods. You are adept at assigning tasks effectively and assessing the appropriate support required for delegation. Your ability to thrive in an evolving environment and swiftly adapt to new scenarios sets you apart.
About the department
The position is based in the Clinical Operations Centre of Expertise VP area within the Trial Portfolio Management & Innovation CVP area. We are an area of dedicated team members working globally to support our colleagues working with our drug development programs. The Learning and Training department will initially consist of 10-12 employees. As this is a new established Department you will have a key role in shaping the strategy for the department as well as the deliverables to the organisation.
