Job Description

We invite to take on a key role in strengthening Ramboll’s global legal operations within insurance. You will be expected to work independently and to take initiative in driving Ramboll Group’s insurances in coordination with the Group Legal Director. To succeed in this role, you must have a comprehensive legal and insurance experience along with strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

You will join the Global Legal function

As our new Insurance Legal Manager you will be reporting directly to the Group Legal Director. The legal function is getting global, bringing together experts from all countries and combining local knowledge with global needs. We are working on delivering efficient global legal services to all Ramboll business units and we are standardizing policies, processes and procedures in close collaboration with the local legal departments.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• You will take the key role as the Group insurance lead to optimize global risk mitigation and build and maintain international master liability insurance programmes. For the right candidate, the role offers the opportunity of working independently with the Group’s insurances.
• Overseeing PI (Professional Indemnity) insurance programmes.
• Coordinating with colleagues within the Ramboll Legal Function on insurance matters including coordinating and taking active part in our insurance reference group.
• Working with and coordinating with our external advisors/brokers.
• Handling insurance related queries from the business and from your colleagues in the Ramboll Legal Function.
• Handling requests for new insurances as well as working with the consolidation of our regional insurances.
• Taking lead in the preparation and execution of the renewals of our Group insurances.
• Taking charge of our claims management system and preparing both external and internal reporting of claims.
• Working with and driving strategic changes to the Group’s insurance set-up.
• Ad hoc support to the Group Legal Director on insurance-related projects and tasks.
• Over time the role could develop to include participation/support in the handling of large claims and projects.

• Broad knowledge around insurances including procurement of insurances and insurance broker services, knowledge of engineer’s and architect’s professional indemnity insurance and general third-party liability insurance.
• Director’s and officer’s liability insurance and cyber insurance (not a requirement but the right candidate should show an interest in working with these lines of insurance).
• Liability claims handling, preferably both international and Danish.
• Contract drafting and review of Danish and international technical consultancy services agreements.
• Building and maintaining international master liability insurance programs.

Your personal qualities will help you succeed in this role:

The candidate must be a qualified attorney-at-law (+5 years), preferably with experience within insurance, litigation and construction law. Further, the candidate should be:

• Fluent in spoken and written legal/corporate English.
• Proactive and organized.
• Commercial and pragmatic.
• A strong team-player and capable of building strong relations.
• Flexible with a positive mindset.
