Senior Risk and Insurance Advisor

Would you like to work with and provide advisory services within development, construction and operational risk management on some of the world's largest renewable energy projects? Do you have experience with insurance related risks and risk management, insurance requirements related to financing and legal risk mitigation? Do you thrive in working independently in terms of managing own projects with high complexity and many stakeholders? Then you get to play a central role towards some of the most important players within renewable energy. You will preferably be based in the company's office just outside of Aarhus, Denmark – although there are other possibilities for the right candidate.

Advisory on all operational risk management related to projects
Reporting to the owner, you will manage the services to your “own” international projects with a high-level risk complexity within renewable energy. This involves power-to-X, off- and onshore wind, solar, battery storage, pump storage, biomass, and waste-to-energy projects with CAPEX budgets up to 8 billion USD. You are typically involved in advising stakeholders in the development phase until the projects are commissioned plus you advise on optimizing costs of risk throughout the operational period for de-commissioning. Thus, you will participate in meetings and support negotiations with project suppliers, and you will drive various tasks related to insurance process and related risk management. The services are provided in the stage from early development support, throughout construction and operational phase with a clear aim to improve the projects overall risk profile and reduce total costs of risks. You will be supported by your manager and two Business Analysts in terms of analyses towards projects and management of insured assets, including financial calculations, numbers crunching, preparing presentations to stakeholders etc. Furthermore, you will function as the specialist within the areas of expertise, and you will work together with different customers as well as investors, insurance and re-insurance companies, project suppliers and legal advisors. You must expect bi-weekly meetings in Copenhagen and 25-40 travelling days a year.

Strong project manager with solid knowledge of risk management, contract law and insurance
You have a relevant educational background such as a MSc in Economics & Business Administration, Business law, Economics or similar. Furthermore, you have experience preferably from international renewables energy projects related to insurance and related risk management, financial issues, contract law and from the insurance area. Thus, you can also bring experience from a position within the oil and gas industry, as long as you have managed international complex projects. Your financial understanding is second to none, you can read and understand CAPEX and OPEX budgets and you have an overall broad technical insight. Moreover, you are self-driven and structured providing high-quality work based on facts, and you can communicate a clear message in a professional manner. You are ambitious and especially motivated by achieving success in cooperation with others. Finally, you are a good listener, meets people with a smile, and understands the value of creating and maintaining good relationships.
