Senior Scientist for the Antibody Screening Team

Symphogen has entered an exciting phase as an Antibody Center of Excellence for Servier with a continued focus on the discovery and early development of novel antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. To help Symphogen on this mission the Antibody Screening team has a rare opening for a creative and experienced Senior Scientist to support them in their efforts to discover and develop the next generation of antibody-based drug candidates.
As Senior Scientist in the Antibody screening team, you will be involved in and lead activities related to all aspects of high throughput (HTP) screening of the antibody repertoires. Together with the antibody screening team, you will be responsible for designing screening plans, developing robust HTP functional assays, and coordinating functional screening of very large antibody repertoires. You will be involved in multiple projects and participate in cross-functional project teams providing scientific input and direction as an expert member and/or project leader.
In addition, as Senior Scientist, you will be expected to provide scientific leadership and serve as a mentor by tutoring and educating R&D staff as well as collaborating with the research and non-clinical teams.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
The preferred candidate has in-depth knowledge of the immune system, oncology, immuno-oncology (preferably also inflammatory diseases) combined with extensive experience in developing in vitro cell-based assays for HTP screening.
You have a Ph.D. degree in cancer biology, immunology, biochemistry, or other related biological science combined with industry experience within antibody drug development.
Furthermore, you have the following experience:

- Design and develop functional screening assays that resemble disease biology and are applicable for HTP screening
- Drive lead selection by integration of data from various sources and across functions
- Keep up to date with current scientific literature in oncology and immuno-oncology
- Closely follow progress on emerging technologies for HTP functional screening
- Lead and coordinate activities across Symphogen and Servier to ensure the timely delivery of project goals
- Leadership and collaboration with highly experienced technician

You have a Ph.D. degree in cancer biology, immunology, biochemistry, or other related biological science combined with industry experience within antibody drug development.
Furthermore, you have the following experience:
- Strong analytical skills and capability of working with large datasets
- Experience in working and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and language skills, written and verbal
- Highly self-driven, motivated team player with commitment and initiative
