Job description
A three-year PhD fellowship within the field of molecular analysis of resistance to targeted therapy and the role of tumor microenvironment in the resistance is available at the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The starting date for the position is as soon as possible and will be agreed upon with the successful candidates.
The fellowship is available in the group of Associate Professor Mikkel Green Terp where the research will be focused on how interactions between cancer cells and their microenvironment regulate therapy responses.
The project is highly multidisciplinary, involving diverse aspects of molecular biology, cellular assays, preclinical in vivo models and analysis of clinical samples.
Research environment
The candidates will be integrated in the Cancer Research Unit at the Department. We collaborate closely with other research groups at the department, Odense University hospital as well as international research groups. We value teamwork, professional diligence, enthusiasm for cancer research and the drive to adopt new skills and techniques. We offer an open team with flexible work organization and support of individual development.
We seek a highly motivated and skilled person to work on targeted therapy resistance and the tumor microenvironment. The successful candidate should have a strong background in molecular biology and biomedicine with documented research experience related to cancer biology, the tumor microenvironment and targeted therapy resistance in cancer.
The position is available to candidates with a MS degree in molecular biology, biomedicine, or a related discipline. The candidates should be proficient in English and possess good interpersonal skills.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information on salary and taxation.
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
