Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time Research Scientist (junior)
Location: STipe laboratories, 8000 Aarhus C
Hours: 37 per week
Starting date: ASAP, no later than Sep 1st

STipe Therapeutics is a biotech company spun out from Institute of Biomedicine at Aarhus University back in 2018 with the aim to develop a sensitizer of the STimulator of Interferon Genes (STING) protein as a novel immunotherapy for cancer. Since then, we have extended our pipeline with a project on STING inhibitors as new therapeutics for patients with rare immunological disorders.

We are currently looking for a Research Scientist to join our in vitro Biology team. We are specifically looking for a person to work on the characterization of the activity of STING inhibitors in cell-based assays using cell lines and primary cells.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Mammalian cell culturing (primary and cell lines).
  • Testing of biological effects of drug candidate in mammalian cell cultures.
  • Detect cytokine release ELISA, MSD or equivalent and in vitro Bioassays.
  • Monitoring cellular viability by different substrate-based assays.
  • Analyze cell lysates by western blots.
  • Analyzing and reporting of results.
  • Documentation using electronic lab notebook systems and company databases.
  • Presentation of data at internal meeting.
  • Write technical reports, standard operating procedures and other documents as required.
  • Adhere to applicable policies and procedures relating to working in the laboratory.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • A MSc in molecular biology, Molecular Medicine, cell biology or biochemistry or with equivalent experience in a life science discipline.
  • At least one year of practical laboratory experience setting is required.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture systems (primary and cell lines) is a must.
  • The perfect candidate is a well-organized team player who can work independently and deliver results on time.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment, and be able to cope with changing priorities and working assignments.
  • Has an eye for detail, can follow protocols and accurately report methods and results.
  • The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is essential.
  • It would be an advantage although not required if the candidate is highly IT-literate with an interest in data management.
