Are you looking for an exciting hands-on learning opportunity to supplement your master’s studies? Join us as an intern in Novo Nordisk and get an opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues from many different nationalities within various fields. It is an opportunity for a unique learning experience and a chance to turn theories into practice. The working hours are flexible, but we are aiming for full time which is 37 hours a week.

About the department

Oral Formulation Research consists of 18 dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues from 7 different nationalities. Our shared ambition is to develop new formulation concepts for oral proteins and peptides delivery, and our tasks comprise of R&D activities within formulation of solid dosage forms, solid state characterisation and analysis. We work together with both industry and academic partners as well as with several areas of Novo Nordisk. Recently, Novo Nordisk has expanded and invested heavily in oral biologics activities and is now pursuing oral treatments for several serious chronic diseases

The position

Your position in our department will mainly be focusing on digitalising the workflow related to formulation, characterization and wet chemical analysis of solid dosage forms. For the past two years, our colleagues have taken on the journey in digitalizing workflows using in-house written software written in Matlab and Python. There is now an increasing need in maintaining and improving the written softwares. Furthermore, in order to continue supporting digitalization of our lab and generated results, there is a need for writing fit-for-purpose software in collaboration with our colleagues.

  • Internship period: 6-12 months, preferable 12 months
  • Working hours: Flexible (min. 18 and max. 37 hours a week)
  • Start date: 01 Aug 2020
  • Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required


Qualifications
We are looking for a person with advanced skills in Python and Matlab programming. It is considered as an advantage if you have been working with requests module in Python and has worked with GUI programming in Python with the PyQt5 module. As a software developer, we value that you are not only focused on computer code generation but have an actual interest on the end-users and takes time in understanding the actual needs from the end-users prior writing the software. Furthermore, we value your strong communication skills that can communicate complex topics such as software code language and the IT-infrastructure behind the scene into easy to understand languages that an ordinary non-software background person can grasp.

As a person, you are outgoing with a strong personal drive and dedication. You are competent within oral and written English and you bring a healthy sense of humor to your work – even when the pressure is on. We expect you to be systematic in your work, reliable and have great focus on collaboration. We expect you to possess a willingness to learn and adapt focusing on solutions and opportunities.
