Ballerup

If you have solid experience with in vivo pharmacology in a drug discovery setting, and you are looking for a job with impact and exciting scientific challenges, then this may be just the right job for you.

LEO Pharma has set the ambitious goal to be pioneering in dermatology and become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. You can play a significant role in making this vision come true. You will join a successful, global company and contribute to our common goal of improving the lives for people around the world who live with a medical skin condition.

About you

You have a strong background within preclinical in vivo pharmacology and immunology, and you know how experimental animal studies can support progression of early drug discovery projects. You have a strategic mindset, and you feel at home in multidisciplinary research teams where you actively engage and contribute scientifically, both within and beyond your own area of expertise.

About us

The In Vivo Biology & Safety department consists of 24 highly skilled scientists and technicians and several students. We are responsible for in vivo efficacy testing and early safety assessments of new drug candidates within dermatology, and we support the entire drug development chain with histology. Our work is characterized by innovation, scientific rigor and patient centricity, and we are known for our collaborative and knowledge sharing environment.
The department’s in vivo activities primarily support biological validation of novel drug targets for treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, and PK/PD understanding of drug candidates. We work with rodent skin inflammation models and occasionally larger animal species. In vivo studies are conducted within our own facility, as well as with external partners.

Your role will be to:

  • Define and plan the in vivo pharmacology strategy and deliverables for drug discovery projects
  • Design, monitor, interpret and communicate data from in vivo pharmacology studies, conducted in compliance with the 3R principles
  • Develop new in vivo models
  • Collaborate with other scientists, technicians and students
  • Actively engage in multidisciplinary project teams, and lead subteams
  • Contribute to our biological understanding of inflammatory skin diseases
  • Help promote a culture of innovation and curiosity, while maintaining accountability and high-performance delivery of scientific data
