Ballerup
You are a motivated and passionate lab scientist interested in building biological and translational platforms to unravel novel targets and therapeutic approaches to help patients within dermatology.
The position is a laboratory-based, 2 year postdoc opportunity to interdisciplinary investigate and understand skin diseases. The focus of the projects will primarily be skin inflammation and disease-like models and to this end you will work within several biological disciplines such as skin immunology, the innate and the adaptive immune system, cell biology, cytokine signaling and inflammatory process from a translational point of view.
You must hold a PhD in natural sciences and have one-to-three years postdoctoral experience in theoretical and practical translational science (e.g. immunology, etc). You should be extremely skilled in a laboratory setting and you have experience in working with different cell types and biological matrixes and with a variety of methods including immunoassays, protein and gene expression analysis, and possibly flow cytometry and cellular imaging. Expertise in above analyses as well as experience in translational approaches to investigate biological processes are desired. Additionally, it would be an advantage if you have bioinformatics knowledge, skin immunology insights and understanding of inflammatory processes and dermatological disease pathway.
Your overall direction will be planned in close dialogue with the principal scientist that is our immunological lead and the project manager driving the novel target exploration and validation. It is expected that you thrive in the lab with a strong wish to drive a data based science agenda and that you plan, execute and analyze your experiments independently in a rigorous and efficient manner. You have a sense of scientific accuracy, curiosity and eye for details. In addition to working independently, you are also a good team player, who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, where your work will also be performed in collaboration with skilled colleagues from several departments in our skin research organization including the in vitro department. Importantly, it is expected that you actively participate in fueling our discussion on new scientific findings and next level development.
