We are seeking for a new R&D scientist for our API process development-team dealing with development of new synthetic procedures for manufacturing of API’s.
API R&D is an area consisting of 20 dedicated employees with primary focus on process R&D of novel therapeutic molecules. The department is responsible for all API related activities in Development supporting our R&D portfolio, including supply of API material for pre-clinical as well as for clinical trials. Our mind-set is flexible and proactive.
We are two teams working together: a process research and development-team and a manufacturing-team. You will be placed in process research and development-team which is responsible for synthetic route scouting, process optimization, upscale and process transfer to our pilot plant.
We are located in our headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark

As a R&D Senior Scientist your responsibilities will cover:
Your qualifications
You are a responsible and motivated team player, result-oriented and well organized in your working routines. It is important that you are open-minded and able to drive projects on your own. But at the same time also enjoy working together with colleagues. You have a strong background within organic chemistry and process R&D. Ideally you have a few years’ experience from the pharmaceutical industry with hands-on experience within process chemistry. You enjoy working majority of the time in the laboratory solving practical challenges within organic chemistry and you are capable of coming up with new innovative solutions.

The job
As a R&D Senior Scientist your responsibilities will cover:
- Identification of synthetic routes to APIs applicable for larger scale API manufacture.
- Optimization and scale-up of synthetic processes.
- Process transfer to our colleagues in manufacturing team.
- Close collaboration with internal colleagues e.g. analytical support.
- Manufacturing of smaller batches of API for pre-clinical trials.
- Project management on smaller projects within the department.
Your qualifications
You are a responsible and motivated team player, result-oriented and well organized in your working routines. It is important that you are open-minded and able to drive projects on your own. But at the same time also enjoy working together with colleagues. You have a strong background within organic chemistry and process R&D. Ideally you have a few years’ experience from the pharmaceutical industry with hands-on experience within process chemistry. You enjoy working majority of the time in the laboratory solving practical challenges within organic chemistry and you are capable of coming up with new innovative solutions.
In addition, you possess:
- A MSc/PhD in organic chemistry or equivalent scientific experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in process development.
- The flexibility of both being a team player and working on your own.
- Proactive and flexible mind-set, and you have focus on structure.
- A practical hands-on approach to organic chemistry and process chemistry.
- Strong co-operation and communication skills.
