Dragonfly Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist with a strong focus on in vivo models of autoimmune diseases and neuroinflammation to join Dragonfly's Inflammation team in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and developing in vivo models of autoimmune and neuroinflammation disorders to advance our drug candidates. The work will primarily involve establishing disease models in our own animal facility, conduct of the studies together with our animal technician and subsequent data analysis, and reporting of results at relevant meetings and in written reports. In addition to hands-on experiments, some work will involve collaboration with CROs to perform some of the models and endpoints, such as histology. The work may also encompass ex vivo analyses, such as immunophenotyping or measuring cytokines or mRNA expression in blood and relevant tissues. The candidate will work within cross-functional program teams to progress our drug candidates and take specific responsibility for the design and conduct of relevant in vivo models to support the projects. The successful candidate will refer to Kresten Skak - head of inflammation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform studies, including PK/PD and efficacy, in mouse models including relevant ex vivo analysis to advance our growing pipeline
  • Independently plan, perform, analyze, interpretate and report results from the studies in a timely manner
  • Train animal technicians in new mouse models
  • Interface with CROs for histological analysis and in vivo models and with vendors for acquisition of relevant materials and reagents
  • Generate, manage, analyze, and maintain critical data with integrity and in a highly organized manner; Document data in electronic laboratory notebook and write technical reports
  • Together with the animal technician ensure compliance with the animal experimentation legislation and keeping a high standard for animal ethics
  • Work collaboratively within the Dragonfly Team.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in In Vivo Pharmacology, Immunology, Cell Biology or similar relevant education with a strong background in autoimmune diseases and mouse models for these
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience post-Ph.D., preferably with drug discovery and target validation experience from biotech/pharma (title commensurate with experience)
  • A deep understanding of the immune system in human and mice is required, and a good understanding of the pathology of rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the pathology of Alzheimer's disease is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with animal models for autoimmune diseases is required, preferable CIA and EAE. Experience with Alzheimer’s Disease models is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with ELISA, luminex, flow cytometry and histology is preferred
  • Experience with testing of therapeutic and bispecific antibodies in animal models is an advantage
  • Experience working with CROs and vendors is preferred
  • Efficient time management and ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with members of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work collaboratively, provide scientific insight, and communicate clearly in writing and orally
  • Excellent record keeping abilities to document analytical data generated in support of regulatory requirements.
