Ballerup

Biopharmaceutical Products are looking for an analytical scientist for a two-year-position on formulation technology studies for monoclonal antibody drug products.

Would you like to be part of a ground-breaking project within injectable treatments?

This position is in a front-end innovation project that explores the possibility to solve a major challenge for monoclonal antibody injection medicines by enabling high-concentration formulations. This would allow patients to move from long intravenous infusions at the hospitals to simple subcutaneous injections in their homes. The project is a new collaboration with a start-up company having roots at MIT that has developed a novel formulation technology. You will be part of a cross-functional team that will investigate the developability of this new concept.

This position as an analytical scientist provides an exciting opportunity to be part of building biologics competences within LEO Pharma and facilitate the development of innovative treatment solutions for patients suffering from severe skin diseases.

Job description

You will be working across our in-house laboratory facilities and collaborate with external partners and CMOs for the development, manufacturing and supply of products for feasibility testing.

Your main role will be:

  • To plan and manage in-house formulation and analytical development studies on injectable formulations and actively participate in across functional project team
  • To develop and run internal analytical methods for feasibility studies in collaboration with analytical technicians.
  • To participate in the manufacturing process implementation, including on-site participation at CMOs.
  • To collaborate with, and provide subject matter expertise to external manufacturing and development partners

  • Qualifications and experience

You have a relevant educational background holding a Masters or Ph.D. within pharmaceutical sciences or another relevant area and experience from analytical development of monoclonal antibody drug products.

  • Experience with common analytical techniques related to monoclonal antibodies and proteins; SE-HPLC, cIEF, reducing/non-reducing CE-SDS analytical techniques and preferably also biophysical testing methods e.g. light scattering techniques.
  • Some Knowledge or experience from formulation and analytical development of injectables, including aseptic Fill & Finish operations.

  • As our new colleague you should have an entrepreneurial spirit, good planning and cross-cultural collaboration skills. In addition a good portion of humor is beneficial.
