Frederiksberg C

A 1 year and 5 months position as postdoc is vacant at the DynaMo Center, a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. The Center is hosted by the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen and located at Thorvaldsensvej 40, 1871 Frederiksberg C, Denmark.

The position commences 1 August 2020 or at a later date of mutual agreement.

Job description
We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to conduct an independent research program using quantitative systems genetics in combination with fungal and plant molecular genetics to understand how two organisms' genomes interact to control their mutual transcriptomes. For this analysis, we are using the model Arabidopsis/Botrytis pathosystem and genome wide analysis on their respective transcriptomes to identify signals that are moving between the two species. For this project, the goal will be to develop quantitative approaches to identify network interactions in the two species and then conduct molecular validation in both the fungal and plant systems. This project will require an extensive knowledge of defense and virulence biochemistry and is designed to offer maximal flexibility for the researcher to shape the project based on their own interests and begin to form an independent research program.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within quantitative biology, systems biology, gene regulation, fungal genetics and biochemistry as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.

Further information
Further information on the DynaMo Center is available at dynamo.ku.dk. Inquiries about the position may be made to DynaMo partner Associate Professor Meike Burow, [email protected] or DynaMo partner Professor Daniel J. Kliebenstein, [email protected].
