We know the value of a great Data Scientist and especially one within the field of Optimisation and Operational Research (OR). We are looking for one that can join one of the most exciting digital transformation projects in Novo Nordisk. If you are an experienced Data Scientist or Specialist within Optimisation or OR, we hope you might be our new colleague.

About the department

You will be based in Hillerød and a part of a diverse team with many years of experience within Operation Excellence and Lean Manufacturing. Together with the team and other like-minded, you will be in charge of building some of the most exciting OR applications that have the potential to be scaled across Novo Nordisk manufacturing facilities. Novo Nordisk is an international company with manufacturing facilities around the world and sales affiliates in all corners. Data is collected from sensors, system transactions, ERP systems, etc., and transformed into daily insights and recommendations that enable decision makers at all levels to make evidence based decisions and optimise the way we do planning.

The position

The ideal candidate will have outstanding, hands-on experience and ability to translate complex process logic into OR solutions that can be used at the front-line. You have worked as a data scientist on multiple OR related projects and no matter if the challenge is big or small, you find it exciting and get things done.

In this role you will work as the lead Data Scientist on advanced analytics projects, translate business needs into workable solutions, data preparation and automation, design, built and maintain OR models and front-end development.

Qualifications

In this position you are required to have:

  • Advanced graduate degree and excellent academic record required (e.g., Master, MBA, Ph.D., etc.)
  • Proven track record in operations-oriented analytical and methodological services (Constrained Optimisation, Integer Programming, Static and dynamic optimisation etc.)
  • Previous experience working with numbers, statistics, and analytics/software (especially specialised optimisation software such as Gurobi, GAMS or AMPL)
  • Statistical programming software experience in SAS, SPSS, R, Python, Matlab or equivalent and knowledge of analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx etc.
  • SQL databases or other relational databases
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting

In addition, some nice to have requirements are:

  • Working in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure
  • Knowledge and familiarity with machine learning models
  • Work experience in one or more of the following industries: Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Energy, Start-up

Moreover, you are curious about the processes and people you work with, and lastly, have strong attention to detail. As we are a global company and an international team, fluency in both spoken and written English is required.
