About the department

With the rapid advancement within data science and data engineering, we are expanding our team. Our ambition is to use the latest techniques and software to draw greater insights and future predictions from the data, which translates to improved decision making and understanding of our production equipment.

Our department and our work are the basis of many larger decisions in the company, and therefore we are very ambitious in our approach and initiative to create, analyze and present our advanced data having a significant impact on how we manage future manufacturing operations.

You will be part of a diverse team, working with some of the most data savvy people in the company and on some of the most exciting advanced data projects across Novo Nordisk global production. Novo Nordisk is an international company with manufacturing sites around the world and sales affiliates in all corners. Data is collected from sensors, production machines, ERP systems, et al., and transformed into daily insights that enable decision makers at all levels to make evidence-based decisions or fully automate the decision-making process.

Our ambition is to be the frontier of data and analytics, use the latest techniques and software to draw greater insights and future predictions from the data and thus making a significant impact on how we manage the future Manufacturing operation.

The position

For the position as Data Engineer the ideal candidate will have outstanding hands-on experience and ability to translate complex logic into data solutions that can be used by the decision-makers and data scientists. You have worked as a data engineer on multiple data and analytics projects - and no matter if the data is big or small, you find it exciting and get things done.

Your role will be to work as the leading data engineer on advanced analytics projects throughout Product Supply including translating business needs into data solutions. You will implement data pipelines from extraction to monitoring (cloud/on-premise) and deploy machine learning models in production. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to design data architectures in production environments as well as taking an active part in driving data and analytics.

As data analyst/scientist you will be responsible of driving our journey towards the next level of analytics by defining how to apply advanced analytics and machine learning in a production context. You will build, test and execute the next generation of analytics across the organization and teach our internal business analysts and statisticians how to apply these techniques. You will support ongoing projects and analytical initiatives both on a strategic and operational level. It’s expected that you’re able to collect, transform, model and visualize data.

For both roles it applies that you will be part of a highly skilled and engaged team where the effort towards being frontiers and having significant impact on future manufacturing operations is joint.

Qualifications

You hold a MSc or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer/Data Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics or similar combined with working experience combining daily operations and project-based work. We value a hands-on data management experience and acknowledge the different skillset you can bring into the role depending on your previous experience as either Data Engineer or Data Scientist.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications like:

  • SQL server, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake.

  • PostgreSQL, Teradata, other relational databases
  • Data processing using ETL tools, SQL, Spark and Python
  • Knowledge and familiarity with machine learning models and deployment
  • Experience in collecting, preparing data and preforming analytics in Alteryx, Python or R.
  • Interest in looking into cognitive applications -DataRobot and other predictive solutions.
  • Data management and BI Architecture including tools like PowerBI and Tableau.

  • RESTful API development (graphql, Amazon API Gateway)
  • Machine learning applications and frameworks (scikit-learn, Tensorflow)
  • Knowledge about graph databases (neo4j)
  • If you have a kaggle profile or similar that proven your skills, please include that too.
