Hørsholm

Are you eager to use your scientific skills and expertise in preclinical research? Are you experienced with biomarker assays and have a broad in vitro assay technology knowledge? Are you motivated by working in a multi-disciplinary environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Gubra.

We are looking for a scientist to join our Biomarker Assay department. You will be responsible for delivering biomarker assay data from our disease models, including setting up new biomarker assays and contributing greatly to the Contract Research Organization (CRO) business.

The Biomarker Assay department supports our CRO business and internal and partnered drug discovery projects by delivering plasma and tissue biomarker data from in vivo pharmacology experiments. We also support our internal drug discovery projects with peptide binding characterization (using an Octet BLI system) and utilize mRNA display technology for the benefit of our early peptide discovery pipeline. We are 6 scientists and 5 laboratory technicians working closely together and with other departments.

As our new scientist, your tasks will include:

  • Coordination and support of biomarker experiments, including supervision of lab technicians.
  • Perform data analysis, interpretation, review, and reporting of study results.
  • Development of new biochemical- and immunoassays and troubleshooting of existing assays.
  • Proposing biomarker strategies in disease models.
  • Communicating key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking lead in assay automatization and digitalization.
  • Participating in internal innovation processes and idea generation.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with in vivo pharmacology, histology, imaging, NGS and computational scientists.

Professional qualifications:

  • PhD or other equivalent experience within life sciences.
  • Experience with immuno- and biomarker assays (ELISA, MSD, alphaLISA and/or colorimetric assays).
  • Background in optimization on several technical platforms.
  • Experience with the Octet BLI technology will be seen as an advantage.
  • Interest in or experience with molecular display technologies (phage display, mRNA display or yeast display) would be considered an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Preferably a background/interest in metabolic, fibrotic, or inflammatory diseases.

As a person you:

  • Are a team player, communicate proactively and share your knowledge.
  • Are not afraid to take on responsibility and initiative within your area of expertise.
  • Are great at planning, structured and comfortable working with deadlines.
  • Have a quality mindset.
  • Have strong analytical skills and enjoy scientific challenges.
  • Have strong oral and written communication and presenting skills.
  • Can navigate and collaborate in an energetic and dynamic organization.

Please apply no later than May 20th 2024, by uploading your motivated cover letter and resume on our website. Please apply as soon as possible and note that applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. If you have questions about the position, please contact Rebecca Wendelboe Olsen, Department Manager of Biomarker Assay at [email protected].

Gubra’s activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two highly synergistic business areas: CRO Services and Discovery & Partnerships (D&P). We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline.

Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging. In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics. Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development. Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.

People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of +230 employees all located in Hørsholm, Denmark.
