The Position
Pharmacosmos wishes to employ a highly qualified International Carbohydrates & Cell Media Scientist (CCS) in the Carbohydrates and Cryopreservation Business Unit with focus on the Cryopreservation business area.
The position as International Carbohydrates & Cell Media Scientist (CCS) will carry the responsibility for activities supporting the further development of Pharmacosmos' Cryopreservation Business. This includes supporting customer implementation of Pentahibe as well as driving further media optimization in collaboration with external collaborators. The role requires a scientific background preferably combined with a business perspective.
The position is based at Pharmacosmos HQ in Holbæk.
job Responsibilities
You will report to the International Sales & Business Director and be responsible for:
- Develop, support and contribute to the commercialization of Pharmacosmos’ Cryopreservation Business
- Engage in technical and scientific dialogue with clients, partners and stakeholders in the Cell-therapy and Biobanking areas. This includes support generation of new leads, technical support for customer engagement, as well as dialog with existing customers.
- Develop Pharmacosmos’ cryopreservation products incl. cryomedia optimization.
- Responsible for engaging in discussions on protocols, experiment design and publications.
- Identify new applications and product opportunities.
- Contribute to the IP matters.
- Secondary responsibilities: Contribute to Pharmacosmos’ overall Carbohydrate Business, including development of the carbohydrate derivative business.
Reporting to:
The CCS will be part of the Carbohydrate Sales and Marketing team and report directly to the International Sales & Business Director.
Professional qualifications & experience
- You must hold a scientific academic degree in Life Sciences, e.g., cell biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant discipline. Master level (MSc) or above, combined with 3-5 years relevant experience or preferably a PhD within a relevant area and preferably +2 years relevant experience.
- The ideal candidate has experience within stem cell culturing, differentiation and cryopreservation. Hereunder screening and testing of different ingredients for e.g., full complex media formulations.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework of therapeutic cell products and medical devices is an advantage.
