Assistant professor and head of programme for BFA in dance and choreography (holstebro)
From August 2023, The Danish National School of Performing Arts (DASPA) offers an international bachelor's degree in dance and choreography in Holstebro. Up to 14 students will be admitted to the programme. We are therefore looking for a colleague in the dance area who wants to be part of establishing and running the school's new campus. At the start of studies in 2023, we will start in temporary premises, and from 2025 the aim is that we can move to a newly built artistic campus in Holstebro together with the Jutland Conservatory of Music.
The new study spots in Holstebro are closely connected to the existing educations in dance and choreography on the school's campus in Copenhagen, and you will draw the artistic and pedagogical line for the education in Holstebro in close cooperation with Rasmus Ölme, who has the overall responsibility for the entire dance area.
We are looking for a colleague with a relevant professional background, who has strong teaching skills and experience with teaching on artistic programmes. You have solid knowledge of the subject's working methods and insight into the interaction between the two main subjects on the programme: dance and choreography and can teach within the two areas yourself.
As a head of programme, you are responsible for, among other things, in order to plan and organize the continuous teaching as well as projects and productions and ensure a close connection between teaching and artistic practice in accordance with the curriculum. It is important that you, by virtue of your background, can strengthen the connection between education and professional field, e.g. through collaborations with local actors and teaching the students how to work in the many various contexts that they will be part of as performing artists.
You will have a key role as the central figure in the education both for students, the involved teachers and any local partners. Coordination and communication with guest teachers is a significant part of your tasks - in collaboration with the school's study administration - and you will assure a committed dialogue where the students' development is the main focus. You are present in your role, and available to both the students and the employees.
In addition, you will be responsible for the budget and finances related to the operations of the education in Holstebro, and in general you can expect that administrative tasks form a significant part of your working time. Competences in planning, administration and finance are therefore also a prerequisite to be considered.
Finally, your position includes that you contribute to the knowledge base and the continued development of the education through pedagogical and/or artistic development activities.
The Danish National School of Performing Arts focuses on creating a good working environment. We expect that you can engage in an artistic learning environment and want to contribute to the collegial community and collaboration both locally in Holstebro and across the school's campuses in Fredericia, Odense, Aarhus and Copenhagen.
