About the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center
The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center is located on the 12th floor in the award-winning Maersk Tower at the Department of Immunology and Microbiology. Further information on the Center can be found at: https://sic.ku.dk.
Project description
The PhD project will focus on how reactive oxygen species (ROS) influence cutaneous T cells with particular emphasis on whether oxidative stress promotes pathological T cell responses in the inflammatory skin disease psoriasis. This will be investigated using primary T cells isolated from human skin, full human skin explant cultures and clinical samples from psoriasis patients as well as techniques such as advanced multicolor flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing and immunohistochemistry. The project will primarily be performed at the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center but will also include research stays at University College London (UK) and Aarhus University Hospital (Denmark).
