We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Staff Scientist to support our efforts in the Single Cell Omics platform to start 1 November 2021 or after agreement. The platform provides access to the latest single cell transcriptomics/epigenetics techniques, to scalable sequencing and to efficient computational workflows for single cell data processing, data normalization, data visualization and data analysis.
About us
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) was established in 2010 to conduct fundamental research on metabolism. The Center has around 250 employees, consisting of 21 research groups and 5 technology platforms, who work in a vibrant international research environment with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge towards new prevention and treatment strategies. The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life. You may read more about us here: www.cbmr.ku.dk.
The position available is in the Single-Cell Omics Platform, a service platform, which was established in 2018 to provide CBMR researchers access to the latest cutting-edge bulk and single-cell transcriptomics and epigenetics techniques. Currently, the platform team consists of Laboratory Technicians, Bioinformaticians, a Lead Developer and a Platform Manager. You may read more about the platform at https://cbmr.ku.dk/researchfacilities/single-cell-omics/.
Your job:
As a Staff Scientist in the Single-Cell Omics Platform, you will be responsible for generating, processing and analysing bulk and single-cell transcriptomic and epigenetics data. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of computational tools and enabling research groups at the Center to fully leverage the potential of single-cell data in their front-line research. The Platform is an integral part of the Center and hence, a large part of the work tasks will be focused on interacting with scientific research groups across the Center.
