University of Copenhagen
The University of Copenhagen is seeking up to two highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellows to commence on March 1, 2023, or after agreement at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, University of Copenhagen.
About Us
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research’s vision is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms our basic understanding of the mechanisms that underlie metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. We were established in 2010 and in 2017, we moved into new laboratories, offices and meeting rooms in the Maersk Tower www.maersktower.ku.dk
The Center has around 280 employees who work in an international, highly collaborative research environment across a range of biomedical disciplines. You can read more about us here: www.cbmr.ku.dk.
Our Research
The Arumugam Group uses data science to investigate how health and diseases are influenced by our gut microbiome; how the gut microbiome interacts with the host and environmental factors, and how we can therapeutically modulate the gut microbiome to improve health. These consortia generate rich host-microbial multi-omics data to investigate molecular signatures of diseases. Successful candidates will be integrating these multi-omics data derived from microbiome (including metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, viral metagenomics, metabolomics, metaproteomics) and host (genetics, proteomics, circulating metabolomics) in collaboration with international data science partners (e.g., EMBL-Heidelberg; University of California, Davis) and other project partners.
In this position, you will be:
In addition, you must have excellent communication and organisational skills as you will contribute to collaborative work with colleagues in the Arumugam group and at the Center.
