We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for a position to commence on February 01, 2024 with end date on December 31, 2025.

The position includes research on the development and characterization of antibody-drug conjugates to be used against uncommon cancer types.

Our research
You will be part of a small research group that works with studies on cancer invasion and targeted drug delivery in close collaboration with other groups at the Finsen Laboratory. In addition, the group has several national and international collaborators. As a colleague at the Finsen Laboratory, you will be part of an inclusive, international research environment with a diverse composition in all aspects such as age, gender and national background.

Your job
You will be working on an ongoing research project focused on targeted drug delivery in uncommon cancer types. Specifically, the work includes the development of novel antibody-drug conjugates directed against particular cancer-associated target proteins, the molecular characterization of these products and studies on their use against cultured cancer cells and in tumor models in mice. The work is performed in collaboration with other members of the research group who have extensive experience in this and related areas of research.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in biotechnology, biomedicine, biochemistry or similar
  • You have a FELASA-accredited course in laboratory animal science (EU Function ABD or equivalent)
  • You are highly experienced in work with purified proteins, protein conjugation chemistry, cell culture work and work with tumor models in mice
  • You have an active interest in university-based development of new drugs against cancer
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Knowledge about molecular and cellular aspects of targeted drug delivery
  • Practical experience in work with antibody-drug conjugates

Place of employment
The place of employment is at the Finsen Laboratory / BRIC, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories, facilities for work with mice and all necessary equipment for the current project.

Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period with end date on December 31, 2025. The starting date is 01 February, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund

Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
