Ambitious clinical translational team looking for a great post doc with a strong track record in translational research in immunology, and a keen interest in developing better management options for the most severely ill asthma patients.

Our ambition is to provide better solutions to the most important challenges that patients with asthma and COPD face: Based at the Department of Respiratory an Infectious Diseases at Bispebjerg University Hospital in Copenhagen, with excellent research laboratory facilities on site, Bispebjerg Lung Researchis ideally situated to identify clinical problems, develop solutions through translational research – and bring them back to the patients we manage.

Our work has contributed with new diagnostic tools and novel management options for patients with asthma, and we are motivated by research with clinical impact.

Our team consists of medical doctors, scientists, laboratory technicians, research nurses and epidemiologists, and our expertise covers a range of clinical examination methods, laboratory research and advanced epidemiological methods. Our research laboratories are centrally embedded in our research unit, as our core research focusses on exploring immunopathology in asthma and COPD through assessing biomarkers, as well as functional assays using cell cultures, in samples obtained from patients pre and post different treatment interventions.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Be part of a growing translational research lab, uniquely situated in a university hospital setting
  • An independent job with the possibility of planning your own working schedules
  • An opportunity to take on a supervisory role in a team of younger scientists and laboratory technicians, as well as clinical research
