Assistant professorship in the Scheibye-Knudsen laboratory, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of Copenhagen
The assistant professor will be part of the Scheibye-Knudsen group at the Center for Healthy Aging (CEHA,www.healthyaging.ku.dk), Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM, www.icmm.ku.dk), University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Program comprises of professionals in several different institutions and you will be able to draw upon the expertise of your experienced colleagues.
The appointment is a 1 year full time position, starting February 1st 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department
The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine focuses on basic cellular and molecular biological processes, their regulation and their significance for cell function, interaction and organisation in tissues. The Department offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate teaching programs spanning cell biology, genetics and basic human biology, including chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, as well as anatomy. Job Description
The assistant professor will utilize cloning, protein purification and cell biology to investigate how DNA damage impacts aging.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have proven skills in cloning, protein purification and cell biology. Knowledge of, and interest in, cellular and organismal aging is necessary. Most importantly, the candidate should show outstanding motivation, a passion for science and a wish to become a leader in the field. In all cases, the ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration, and thus we encourage everyone interested in this post to apply, regardless of personal background.
Salary and employment terms
The terms of employment are set according to the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations or other relevant professional organization. Successful applicants will receive a generous salary as well as a monthly contribution of 17.1% of the salary paid into a pension fund.
