We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a full time Research Assistant position at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen. The position is open from 1st of November 2023or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is limited in time to 18 months.

The mission of Department of Pharmacy is to advance the pharmaceutical sciences by performing drug-related research and research-based teaching. This happens within a range of topics including pharmaceutical technology and formulation, drug delivery, advanced drug analysis and clinical and social pharmacy. Department of Pharmacy emphasizes further development of internationally recognized programs of research and education. Job description

The position is primarily embedded in the Structured Biointerfaces research group. Our research goal is to gain new fundamental knowledge about the interaction of particles with the gastrointestinal environment. To do this we apply existing methods and develop novel approaches to determine structure and composition as adsorbed material on exposure of different types of particles with different surface chemistry, to gastrointestinal fluids. We have recently developed low frequency Raman scattering as a method to study materials at interfaces and seek to continue this work through the efforts of a research assistant. Your research tasks will be to independently, with reference to researchers in the group, design experiments, conduct experimental studies, perform data analysis and write scientific manuscripts.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in chemistry, spectroscopy, pharmaceutical science or materials science
  • You are highly experienced and have demonstrable publication record in low frequency Raman scattering over several years of experimental programs using the technique
  • You are highly experienced and have a demonstrable track record in chemometric analysis using software packages such as Matlab
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Experience with synchrotron scattering studies (SAXS), having attended several rounds of beamtime and been involved in experimental design and analysis
  • Experience with lipid formulations, such as emulsions, mesophase materials and solid lipid nanoparticle systems

Place of employment

The place of employment is at Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Terms of employment
The employment as Research Assistant is a full time and fixed-term position for 18 months. Starting date is November 1st 2023 or after agreement.

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 31.040 DKK/ approx. 4,160 Euro. Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of June 28, 2013.

The further process
