We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for up to 2 years to commence 15th December 2023.

The position will be specifically focussed on ex vivo drug delivery assessment across mucosal tissue, and will be in collaboration with current researchers in the group.

Our research
We perform research on drug delivery of biopharmaceuticals. Within the research group of 20+ international researchers at different stages of their career, we have several joint and interdisciplinary projects. Further, we collaborate with other national and international academic groups as well as with industry as relevant. We strive for diversity within the group, of course prioritizing the needed scientific qualifications.

Your job
The post doc will have to independently drive the work around ex vivo studies to be conducted within the projects in oral delivery of peptides, yet in collaboration with relevant colleagues and students.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or related education
  • You are highly experienced in appropriate handling and assessment of tissue for ex vivo drug delivery studies in Ussing chambers, or alike, including histological assessment
  • You have an active interest in method development and persistent and systematic in your approach
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Experience on formulation of biopharmaceuticals for non-injectable delivery

Place of employment

The place of employment is at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment.

Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of up to 2 years. The starting date is 15th December 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 36,400 DKK/approx. 4,880 EUR (October 2023 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

The further process
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the hiring committee. Once the assessment work has been completed each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
