The Center for Information Security and Trust (CIST) at IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position within the area of Internet of Things (IoT) security. The starting date is as soon as possible and will run for a duration of two years.
ITU’s vision is to create and share knowledge that is profound and leads to ground-breaking information technology and services for the benefit of humanity. The Computer Science Department seeks to conduct research and education that are both foundational and have impact on industry and society.
The postdoc position is sponsored by the Danish national project “CIDI - Cybersecure IoT in Danish Industry” funded by Industriens Fond (Industry Foundation). The main purpose of the project is to strengthen Danish companies' cyber security level in relation to Industry 4.0, in particular IoT. The project will contribute to creating greater strategic awareness of IoT security in management, research, and development, and strengthen commercial, organizational and technical security practice in companies. CIDI's ambition is to make IoT security tangible and understandable for industry. Some interaction with Danish small and medium enterprises (SMV) is required. Some proficiency in Danish or another Scandinavian language is therefore preferable.
A part of CIDI's mission is to assist Danish industry to heighten the security of their respective IoT products, which defines the research activities for the post-doctoral researcher.

We see to hire a strong candidate holding a PhD in computer security, computer engineering or similar and the successful candidate is expected to:

The IT University of Copenhagen is a teaching and research university concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 160 full-time academics. Research and teaching in information technology spans all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialization of IT.

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

- conduct research in security standards for IoT
- design a methodology for the continuous security certification of IoT devices
- design and develop IoT security tools for deployment in Danish companies
- interact with Danish small and medium enterprises (SMV)
- work with existing faculty in CIST and to contribute to the Center's expertise in IoT security
- coordinate a number of PhD/MSc students on cyber-security research at CIST
- contribute to teaching activities at ITU
- have a background in cybersecurity and experience in IoT security is considered a plus.
