Kolding
The Department of Business and Economics, University of Southern Denmark, invites applications for one or more vacant associate professorships within the area of accounting and/or auditing to be filled as soon as possible. Appointment to associate professor requires scientific qualifications documented through a PhD degree in Economics / Business Economics and a completed assistant professorship (or the equivalent). It is expected that applicants have a proven record of scientific research at an international level within the area of Economics / Business Economics with particular focus on accounting and/or auditing, as well as a record of good teaching skills and experience. The position(s) is to be filled in Kolding.
The research and teaching activities at the department are organized within four groups: Accounting; Finance; Microeconomics, and Econometrics & Economic History.
Within accounting, research in financial accounting, managerial accounting, and in auditing is conducted using analytical, empirical, behavioral and qualitative methods. Analytical research is in Odense while qualitative research is located primarily in Kolding. Empirical and behavioral methods are employed at both locations.
It is the aim of the Department of Business and Economics to conduct research of high international standard documented through publications in internationally distinguished journals and presentations at international conferences. It is expected that the successful applicant will contribute to the research at the department.
Furthermore, it is the aim of the department to conduct teaching using the newest teaching methods to enhance students' learning. Currently, accounting programs are offered both in Kolding and in Odense, while the auditing program is offered only in Kolding. The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of courses in accounting and/or auditing as well as supervision of students at both the BSc and MSc levels.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

Applicants applying for an associate professorship are requested to submit a teaching portfolio with the application as documentation for teaching experience as well as supervision qualifications. Formal application instructions and a guide for the teaching portfolio may be found here.
All non-Danish documents must be translated into English.
Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee and the committee will assess whether you are qualified to be an Associate Professor.
The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her. The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the head of department who will assemble an appointment committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted. Additionally, the appointment committee determines which candidate will be offered the position.
Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.
Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process.
