Applications are invited for one or more positions as Professor in Entrepreneurship and Management at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management, University of Southern Denmark with base in Kolding. We want to fill the position as soon as possible no later than december 2022.

The Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management (IER) is a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment, where the abilities to form relationships and work within teams are a historical and fundamental part of the department culture. The department have activities in Kolding, Sønderborg and Slagelse with approx. 50 researchers engaged in research and teaching in the fields of design management, entrepreneurship, B2B marketing, supply chain management and business networks, and organizational studies.

Within the department, the Professor will be affiliated with the Entrepreneurship and Organization Research Group that works with three general themes: nascent entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship, SME management & growth. Successful applicants have a PhD in Business Administration, Business Economics, or affiliated areas and should have made distinct contributions to entrepreneurship and business development and demonstrated the ability to publish original research of high quality in top-ranked field journals or general management journals. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience with qualitative methods. Furthermore, it is important that the applicant shows a sustained and sizable research output and significant academic impact. The applicant should demonstrate ability to provide scientific leadership, inspiration and guidance, and the applicant should have an international research network. Demonstration of significant contributions to the strategic development of his/her department’s research portfolio and fundraising strategies are also characteristics of a successful candidate.

Apart from this a steady rate of publications, a progression in publications over time, as well as current research activity in the form of recent publications is necessary to qualify for the position.

Successful applicants also are expected to show extensive and excellent pedagogical skills through prior teaching, supervision and development of course, programs, teaching material, etc. Documentation for knowledge exchange and communication of scientific knowledge to the general public or groups outside academia together with experience with external funding is also expected of successful applicants.

Applicants applying for a professorship are requested to submit a teaching portfolio with the application as documentation for teaching experience as well as supervision qualifications. Formal application instructions and a guide for the teaching portfolio may be found here.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee and the committee will assess whether you are qualified to be a Professor.

The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.

When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her. The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Deparment who will assemble an appointments committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted. Additionally, the appointments committee determines which candidate will be offered the position.

Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.

Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process.
