Do you want to be part of a dynamic, technology-driven department engaged in cutting edge stem cell research to develop novel therapies for the treatment of chronic diseases like Type 1 Diabetes, Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Heart Failure?

About the department
The Department of Stem Cell Biology is located within the Transformational Research Unit (TRU) Stem Cell R&D at Novo Nordisk. This TRU is unique in the sense that it contains the entire Novo Nordisk value chain, which means that we span from early research all the way to GMP manufacturing under the same organisational roof. We are situated in Måløv, Denmark and count 11 academics and 9 technicians, and we are experts in stem cell differentiation and characterization.

The position
We are looking for a flow cytometry expert with documented hands on experience that is ready to take on a position as a technological resource in order to help us characterize our stem cell differentiation protocols.

Flow Cytometry
You will join a dedicated team and a state-of-the art FACS platform that work full time in supporting our pipeline of stem cell projects. In your daily work, you will be interacting with scientists in the various projects to identify new markers for characterization, map current needs and prepare action plans with deadlines. In the execution phase you will be responsible for the organization and coordination of the work for our associate scientists with regards to design of new staining panels and optimizations of new antibodies. In addition, you will on a weekly basis ensure analysis of the high throughput of FACS samples from ongoing protocol optimizations within the cell differentiation teams.

Bridging Research and CMC
In the interface between research and CMC you will ensure that the assays we are developing live up to the standard that is expected for transfer to GMP production including assay development, qualification and tech transfer. In addition, you will also be responsible for documentation of experiments, writing of SOPs and technical transfer documents.

Automation
Our development efforts on the flow cytometry platform are heavily focused on automation of all our processes, both in vitro and in silico. We analyse thousands of samples every year and depend on a stable high throughput platform and a mindset that is always on the outlook for how we can improve our current processes and current ways of working.

Qualifications
You hold a PhD and a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral and/or industrial experience in biological sciences. You have extensive experience within flow cytometry and development of new assays. An understanding of and experience with assay qualification and validation in a GMP setting will be considered a big advantage as we work very closely with our colleagues in CMC to ensure a smooth tech transfer.

Experience with liquid handling stations is advantageous, but a positive attitude towards automation and high throughput in general is a must. In addition to your scientific profile, you are a dedicated, open-minded, and innovative team player with good collaboration skills, result oriented and organised in your working routines.

Working at Novo Nordisk
At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication and ambition help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with enthusiastic colleagues and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
