Odense C
The DNRF Center of Excellence, Center for Functional Genomics and Tissue Plasticity (ATLAS), at the University of Southern Denmark, invites applications for a 2 year postdoc position from outstanding candidates with a keen interest in cellular receptors and generation of specific antibodies for targeted therapy to help understand the molecular and cellular basis underlying tissue plasticity in obesity and develop novel potential treatment modalities for liver diseases. The position is available from 1st of February 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Qualifications/requirements
The position will be based in the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark. The postdoc will primarily work in the group headed by associate professor Jonas Heilskov Graversen and professor Søren Kragh Moestrup, and will be involved in identification of novel cellular targets for specific delivery of antibody conjugated drugs to specific cells of the liver and adipose tissues. The postdoc will also be expected to contribute to various teaching activities at the Department and to supervise PhD, Master’s and Bachelor students.
We seek a highly motivated, dedicated and ambitious scientist with strong communication and collaborative skills. The successful candidate must have documented experience at PhD level with recombinant protein chemistry and molecular biology and preferentially also in characterization of protein interactions, monoclonal antibody technologies and/or targeted drug delivery. Broad experience with cell and molecular biology techniques will be greatly valued. The candidate must be proficient in spoken and written English and have an interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment.

About ATLAS: https://www.sdu.dk/en/atlas
The DNRF Center ATLAS, headed by Prof. Susanne Mandrup, aims to obtain system-level, mechanistic and cell type-resolved understanding of adipose and hepatic tissue plasticity in response to diet induced obesity and regression in mouse models and to translate this for in-depth understanding of the functional changes in these human tissues in response to severe obesity and reversal. The center applies a combination of next generation sequencing-based approaches, mouse models, proteomics, in vivo targeting, computational biology and clinical studies.
Application, salary etc.
Appointment as postdoc will be for two years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the two-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaries between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
