The Centre of Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBMO) at OPEN, Odense University Hospital and the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark, invite applications for a position as professor or clinical professor in evidence-based medicine and clinical research methodology to be filled as soon as possible. The professorship will be combined with a position as consultant at OPEN.
CEBMO was established based on the existing (research) collaborations between SDU and OUH, including OPEN at OUH. Moreover, CEBMO was initiated to address both the national and regional focus on medical evidence, as it is expressed in the Government's health policy proposal "The sooner - the better", where concepts such as evidence, quality and documented effect of treatment are common. At regional level, it is seen in the changed management paradigm focusing on "best possible treatment" rather than "most possible treatment", which precisely requires a targeted use of evidence-based treatments.
Organization of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine Odense
The Centre is established as a research unit, which is partly affiliated with the Department of Clinical Research, SDU and partly with OPEN, OUH. Furthermore the Centre collaborates with the Research and Analysis Section at University Library of Southern Denmark (SDUB).
The professor/clinical professor will be Head of Research at the research unit and will, in research questions, refer to the Head of Department of Clinical Research, SDU. In operational and financial matters, the Professor/Clinical Professor will refer to the Head of OPEN. The decision-making competences regarding the Centre's goals, direction and activities, are placed with the Head of the Centre and the Head of OPEN. An Advisory Board is established in relation to CEBMO.

Further information can be obtained from the Head of OPEN, ass professor Lone Kjeld Petersen, e-mail [email protected] , or from the Head of the Department of Clinical Research, professor Kirsten Ohm Kyvik, email [email protected].
